Tenrikyo: Return to your Origin and savor the Joyous Life

5 a.) All human cultures.  I don't know if anything is known concerning Miki Nakayama's views on human cultures prior to October 26, 1838 but I think it safe to assume that she shared the views and truths of her contemporaries. On the path of returning the mind to its origin those views and truths are characterized as being the result of "common worldly self-centered reasoning".

b.) By the morning of October 26th 1838 however, Miki, now taken as a "Shrine of Moonsun" was of the view that  produced poetry with sentiments like:

To say what this talk is about: it is equally about Nihon, Kara, and Tenjiku. The emphasis here being on the word "equally".

To God, who began this world, all of you in the world are equally My beloved children.

c.) After October 26, 1838 I think it safe to say that Miki, the Shrine of Moonsun was out of step with the  common current thinking on the relative values of human cultures.

d.) Metaphorically worldly common truths are changeable and impermanent they are of the nature of the Moon.

4.) One's own culture. Prior to October 26, 1838 Miki is portrayed as something of a model citizen. After October 26,1838 the "Shrine of Moonsun" is reported to have been so out of step with the worldly common culture of Her particular time and place that She was arrested and taken to the police station on more than one occasion.

4.a.)Metaphorically, one's own culture, though marvelous and full of common worldly truths to be sure, is changeable , impermanent and of the nature of the Moon.

3.) One's community. Prior to October 26, 1838 the Nakayama family held a position of some stature in their village. After October 26, 1838 they were viewed by many as being out of step with the common worldly reasoning and norms of the time, dress and behavior.

3.a.) Metaphorically one's community relationships are of the nature of the Moon.

2.) One's family and friends. Prior to October 26, 1838 Miki was viewed as a normal but pious housewife. After October 26, 1838 Miki, now the "Shrine of Moonsun" was viewed by some family members as potentially mentally unbalanced and many efforts were made to return Her to the same normal, common worldly way of reasoning that remained the condition of those around Her.

2.a.) Metaphorically our relationship with our family and friends is of the nature of the Moon.

1.) The all important self center. Prior to October 26, 1838 Miki viewed the world from a foundation of self-centered reasoning. After October 26, 1838 Miki as the "Shrine of Moonsun" had completely replaced the self-centered foundation of Her mind with the foundation of the reason of heaven. The reasoning based on the knowledge and understanding that this universe is the body of God and that any and everything is what God says and does.

2.) The mind that has returned to its origin informs all self-centered thinking with the truth of origin. The truth of any and everything.

3.b) Metaphorically the mind that has had its foundation replaced with the truth of origin is of the nature of Moonsun.
