This universe is the body of God.

Ponder this in all matters.

Comment on verse 7-12, Part 4

We are discussing verse 1-6, and 7-12 separately, but I think these verses are one group. Oyasama promises the bright future of the Path, culminating in receiving the gift of heaven.

The gift of heaven is referred to "Kanro" or heavenly dew. Ultimately, we will receive the dew on the vessel placed on top of the Kanrodai. That is what is promised in the other part of the Ofudesaki. I do not know if it is really like dew. My understanding is this; when we become single-hearted with God, we will be able to receive full providence, which is already there but our mind is blocking it. I think dew is another word for the full providence.

I talked about a few constructive steps Oyasama took then, one being about the Kagura masks. Here in the verse 7, Oyasama hasten the construction of the South Gatehouse, where She would spend days meeting people who came for help. Universally though, the verse hastens the construction of our mind.

Verse 8 is about God's guidance. People listen but many do not practice what they listen. That is human propensity. So, how does God make us listen and practice? Through illnesses and troubles. When we face these occurrences, we become desperate, find no alternative but to turn to God. God who created us surely knows how to handle us.

end of my comment.
