Single-Hearted Devotion - Surrendering and binding the imagination to a higher power 

If you truly resolve your mind and pray to Me,
I shall grant you My free and unlimited workings at once.

If your mind is sincere, pray to Me quickly about any concerns.
I shall respond at once.

This path to single-hearted salvation has always been available to human beings. It is the way that Miki awakened and though not the "Main Road" of step by step awakening to knowledge and understanding of the truth of origin that the Parent of Origin is hastening, it is still a way of settling the self-centered imagination and in so doing, returning the mind to its origin and the enjoyment of the free and unlimited workings that flow from the origin. 

The key element in single-hearted devotion can be found in the phrases "truly resolve your mind" and "If your mind is sincere". True sincerity being the art and effective element in the method. As this is the most popular human method of interaction with God perhaps a word or two about why spiritual awakening and the enjoyment of God's free and unlimited workings is such a rare occurrence. Briefly, on the outside, self-centered devotion ( sincerely praying for things that one sincerely wants self-centeredly) looks identical to single-hearted devotion (settling, clearing or surrendering the self-centered imagination). The perfection of surrendering to a higher power then is the truly sincere "mind like clear water". The mind in which the self-centered imagination has been settled or sincerely given up.

The line between single-hearted devotion and self-centered devotion is only one thought deep. It is the fundamental separation from God as the thought "I want". The truth of origin and the way of single-hearted salvation is perfect and cannot be tricked, flattered or fooled into giving free and unlimited workings to the self-centered imagination. Though God our Parent would very much like to do so, it is not possible to do so as long as the self-centered imagination remains the sole foundation of our thinking, functioning without the knowledge and understanding of the truth of origin. That is why such a popular path rarely yields single-hearted salvation.

To counter this difficulty the Services have been provided to prepare the mind and quickly show the way to the knowledge and understanding or the truth of origin.
