Do not think of anything in worldly
terms.
There is a new and marvelous path for
you.
Is there more than one way to understand the meaning of these terms ?
Yes, there are two paths or threads of meaning that can be followed as they emerge from an exploration of "Tenrikyo Terms", they are:
The intended meaning and the unintended meaning:
The intended meaning shows the way to quickly return the human mind to the truth of its origin and the realization of the freedom and joy that flows from that knowledge and understanding.
The unintended meaning shows the way to whatever worldly common path it opens onto and though it too can lead the mind to the truth of origin, in general the pursuit of unintended meanings does not show the way to do so quickly. In this matter the realization of the goal through the pursuit of unintended meanings has been compared to being lost in the darkness of the self-centered imagination without any reliable guide.
From the point of view of our every day common worldly way of understanding things:
This juncture would indicate the need for a parting of ways. With each person going off in pursuit of the goal according to their own self-centered interpretation of intended meanings. Those wishing to awaken quickly going in one direction while those preferring a more a more random and leisurely pace going off in whatever way they choose. Indeed the unintended meaning does just that.
However the intended meaning includes everybody whether they understand the intended meaning or not:
To ensure that the path of single-heartedness with God remains truly suitable and accessible for all human minds regardless of time, place or level of spiritual maturity the intended meaning supports three accommodating interpretations.
